  • Introducing New Journeys and Badges for STEM and Outdoors!

    On July 17, 2017, Girl Scouts of the USA released programming for 38 new badges and Journeys focused on outdoors and STEM, which are available at no additional cost through the Volunteer Toolkit! his new programming follows the same model as the current badge and Journey options and is intended to be an add-on to the program choices now available to girls and volunteers.

  • DEADLINE EXTENDED! Grant Opportunity! CVS Health - Youth Tobacco Prevention PSA Campaign Launch!

    Deadline has been extended to August 2nd! CVS Health, WPRI and the Pawtucket Red Sox are joining forces for the third year of Community Heroes, a program that will provide $55,000 in grants to Rhode Island nonprofits. That is why this year’s grant program will be a Public Service Announcement campaign where youth can create a 30- or 60-second video on what it means for them to be the first tobacco free generation. And we need Girl Scouts to take part in submitting!

    Not all families – whether they are moms, dads, caregivers - can afford to provide the amazing experience of Girl Scouting to their girls.   • Save the Date! Rocky Point 5k on June 17th!

    The Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England has been selected as one of the recipients of the Central Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce Rocky Point 5K, which will take place on June 17, 2017.  We are looking for participants to run/walk and also for other volunteers to help out the day of the race.  We would love to have a Girl Scout team participate!

  • Warwick Troop 278 "Making Connections" at Ethan Place!

    In 2015, the girls from Warwick Troop 278 wanted to go Christmas caroling.  Rikki-lyn, a member of the troop, suggested they go to a nursing home since the seniors there don’t get to interact with many people.  The girls agreed and the rest has been history ever since!     Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England (GSSNE) is thrilled that four local Girl Scouts will be representing our organization at the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) in New York City from March 10 – 17, 2017. GSSNE is one of only three Girl Scout councils (out of 112 total councils across the U.S.) selected to send girl representatives to this high profile event hosted by UN Women.

    Be a change-maker: We're looking for 9th - 12th graders  to join our new By Girls For Girls Advisory Board! You'll serve as a local representative for the whole Girl Scout year (October 1 - September 30) and meet other older girls passionate about Girl Scouting from Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island.

  • What's Your Cookie Story?

    In 1917, the first cookie story is where it all began. The sale of these yummy treats was a way to finance troop activities five years after Juliette Low founded the Girl Scouts. It was the Mistletoe Troop in Muskogee, OK who baked cookies in the high school cafeteria as a service project. And as they say, the rest is delicious history! As a way of celebrating this incredible legacy of everyone's favorite cookies, we are looking to collect ONE HUNDRED cookie selling stories!

    We’re looking for Girl Scouts ages 14-18 to join us at the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) from March 10 – 17, 2017! You’ll serve as a delegate, connect with other female leaders, and add your voice on this year’s primary theme.

  • Whole Foods Donates 300 Bags to GSSNE Wellness Program

    Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England is incredibly grateful to Whole Foods in Cranston, RI for their donation of 300 hundred shopping bags to our Girl Scouts Summer Program "Full of Ourselves". This fun & fit 6 week wellness program is an exciting way for girls to learn how our bodies work and what we can do to keep them healthy for years to come. These bags will be used as a key part of the curriculum in which the girls will learn to construct an “inside out vest” mirroring what happens inside the human body! We can’t thank Whole Foods in Cranston enough for their supportive contribution to this program!
