    On March 7th, Cadette and Junior Girl Scouts from Warwick Troop 274 experienced the thrill of Disney's "The Lion King" live at the Providence Performing Arts Center on Tuesday! From start to finish, the whole night was a special experience for the girls!

  • Local Girl Scouts to Represent GSSNE at the Commission on the Status of Women in New York City!


    Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England (GSSNE) is thrilled that four local Girl Scouts will be representing our organization at the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) in New York City from March 10 – 17, 2017. GSSNE is one of only three Girl Scout councils (out of 112 total councils across the U.S.) selected to send girl representatives to this high profile event hosted by UN Women. 

  • Warwick Troop 274 Takes Over The Rhode Show!


    On February 22nd, three members of Warwick Troop 274 took over the Rhode Show! It wasn't intended to go that way, but these girls showed their true Girl Scout spirit, put on their proverbial adventure caps and became were shining examples of what it means to be a G.I.R.L.     Did you know that Girl Scouts is turning 105 years old on March 12? What an incredible history of tradition and girls' leadership! Girl Scout Week is celebrated every March, starting with Girl Scout Sunday and ending with Girl Scout Sabbath on a Saturday, and it always includes the Girl Scouts' birthday. Check out our fun calendar with all of our Girl Scout Week theme days!

  • What It Means to Represent Girl Scouts


    When you represent Girl Scouts at a cookie booth, a community gathering, or any type of public event - you have the honor of representing all that Girl Scouts stands for - which includes our non-partisan position as an organization. Our interim CEO, Sylvia Acevedo from Girl Scouts USA has provided a wonderful reminder to us all on what that responsibility means as Girl Scout members.

  • CEI and the Volunteer Toolkit!


    The new online Volunteer Toolkit (VTK), will help troop volunteers get what they need–when they need it. Troops will be able to plan out their whole year and have a roster of all troop member information and so much more!

  • CEI Simulation Week is Here!


    The GSSNE CEI Migration Simulation Week is starting TODAY (yay!), January 23 and completing Friday, January 27. Our fearless CEI team (Pauline, Meghan, Laura, Jill, Rebecca and Darmelis) will be working with GSUSA every day this week to review data migration, build out the opportunity catalog and perform functional testing in preparation for our CEI Go Live date March 3rd.

  • Cupcake Wars Result in Donation to Welcome House!

    Unfortunately, the GSSNE Rhody Rockets canoe team will not have a 2017 season. We know how worthwhile and valuable this experience has been for older Girl Scouts over the past 25+ years. However, we were not able to secure a certified, qualified coach and/or Lifeguard for the 2017 season.

  • What's Your Cookie Story?


    In 1917, the first cookie story is where it all began. The sale of these yummy treats was a way to finance troop activities five years after Juliette Low founded the Girl Scouts. It was the Mistletoe Troop in Muskogee, OK who baked cookies in the high school cafeteria as a service project. And as they say, the rest is delicious history! As a way of celebrating this incredible legacy of everyone's favorite cookies, we are looking to collect ONE HUNDRED cookie selling stories!

  • Whole Foods Donates 300 Bags to GSSNE Wellness Program


    Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England is incredibly grateful to Whole Foods in Cranston, RI for their donation of 300 hundred shopping bags to our Girl Scouts Summer Program "Full of Ourselves". This fun & fit 6 week wellness program is an exciting way for girls to learn how our bodies work and what we can do to keep them healthy for years to come. These bags will be used as a key part of the curriculum in which the girls will learn to construct an “inside out vest” mirroring what happens inside the human body! We can’t thank Whole Foods in Cranston enough for their supportive contribution to this program!

  • The Gold Awards – The Centennial Celebration!

  • Volunteer Appreciation Event – Our Girl Scout Thanks to YOU!

    This year's Volunteer Appreciation Event was held on June 4th at Camp Hoffman. It was wonderful to have everyone together, celebrating and enjoying themselves. A HUGE thank you to ALL our volunteers who give so much of themselves, every day, in leading our girls!

    On April 28th, GSSNE celebrated eight incredible women amongst a crowd of 180 individuals at the Citizens Bank Rotunda in downtown Providence.
