Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England has been proud to host the Senior Leadership Conference (SLC), a valuable and longstanding annual weekend event for Girl Scouts in grades 10 – 12, for many of the past thirty years of the conference’s rich history.
In January 2017, GSSNE moved to a formalized, comprehensive partnership model that differentiates between GSSNE-facilitated and externally-facilitated programs. Therefore, beginning October 1, 2017, externally-facilitated partner programs such as SLC (with some rare exceptions, such as the Boston Museum of Science) will fully support their own registration systems. GSSNE, after much discussion and consideration, has made the difficult decision to no longer run registrations for Senior Leadership Conference. It is our sincere hope that another Girl Scout council will assume this role. We are happy to share that we have already reached out to other councils and at least one council is open to a conversation about this.
We hope that the Senior Leadership Conference will continue for many years and will encourage all Girl Scouts in grades 10 – 12 to take part in this impactful, high-quality, and life-changing weekend. We know that so many Girl Scouts have had amazing experiences at SLC and we truly look forward to the conference continuing to grow and thrive.
