Warwick Troop 274 Takes Over The Rhode Show!

girl original

On Wednesday, February 22nd, Ginger Lallo, Senior Director of Advancement for GSSNE was accompanied on air by three members of Girl Scout Warwick Troop 274 - Samantha Stotler, Annabelle Tracy and Emilie Desper - for a Rhode Show cookie segment.

Their mission? To share all the amazing and wonderful news about the centennial of Girl Scouts selling cookies AND why as Girl Scouts they enjoyed being exactly that, Girl Scouts!

But what started as a simple (but very important!) opportunity to represent their council on air, turned into an opportunity to learn about SO much more! Samantha, Annabelle and Emilie took the new G.I.R.L. anthem to heart and bravely displayed their G.I.R.L. attitude by being open to every adventure shared with them that day!

They were not only interviewed LIVE on The Rhode Show, but were able to check out the full set for WPRI news and had a chance to enter the control room! They were able to exercise their teleprompter reading skills straight from the news desk, as well as working their meteorologist muscles with the WPRI weather map. They also had a chance to meet all the hosts, ask questions and have their pictures taken.

The girls also spoke with a cameraman who showed them various types of equipment used for the show and explained how they film "offsite" segments. And as if all this wasn't enough, they even met a female director who showed them how the "code" they have been learning was used in real time and real life to run the show!

It was total rock star celebrity status for these three from Troop 274! And we can't forget to thank their "tour manager" Jennifer Desper, Co-Troop Leader from #274 who made sure these girls were camera ready and made the most of every moment on set.

All this was packed into their morning before the segment even AIRED live! These girls are role model examples of the G.I.R.L. attitude...and we have a feeling nothing is going to get in their way!
