Camp Cookie: Pond is Re-Opened!
UPDATE! JULY 18th: We are pleased to share that Camp Cookie's pond has passed the most recent water test by the RI Department of Health and our campers will happily and safely be enjoying every bit of what Camp Cookie has to offer - including our lovely pond!
We wanted to share with our members that GSSNE learned on the afternoon of July 13 that the pond at Camp Cookie did not pass the most recent RI Department of Health water test and immediately halted all swimming and boating.
We want to assure everyone that we test our water quality regularly at Camp Cookie, and the recent heavy rains resulted in the failed test. This is an unusual occurrence and is directly related to the continued amount of rain we have had this summer. We will continue to test our water daily until we pass the state water test, and we will reopen swimming and boating at Camp Cookie as soon as we receive a passed test.
In the meantime, Camp Cookie campers will continue to have an incredible summer experience with archery, arts and crafts, outdoor cooking, teambuilding, gnome hunts, games, and many other activities with our fun and fantastic camp staff!
