Open to all Adult Volunteers
Certification in First Aid/CPR is required for at least one adult accompanying troops/groups on trips or overnight outings; it is recommended for all other troop activities. The GSSNE course offers a two-year certification from the American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI).
After registration, ASHI will send a link to the online portion of the training to every registrant. The online training is comprehensive; be sure to allow enough time (3 hours) to complete it. The in-person practicum session will be 3-hours long and will involve skill demonstration on manikins and review of the first aid portion.
All participants will be required to complete a Covid screening prior to the class and must follow all safety protocols as instructed by GSSNE.
