Girl Scouts, you are invited to take part in our STEM Career Exploration Tour at the Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) on June 20 from 10 AM - 3 PM. This huge department offers career opportunities in project management, engineering, planning, traffic safety, finance, and maintenance in addition to many others. More and more women are finding these careers to be both satisfying and lucrative. Girl Scouts will rotate between four stations of the facility focusing on traffic management control, engineering and project management, the stormwater and environmental team, and the materials testing lab! We will regroup to hear from an expansive career panel of RIDOT leaders. Then get ready to practice your interviewing skills with a game of networking bingo! We will walk to the Rhode Island State House where pizza and drinks will be provided for lunch. If you have dietary restrictions or would like to supplement the provided food, please bring a packed lunch. This free, one-day program is open to Girl Scout Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors and includes the STEM Career Exploration Badge. This is not a drop-off program. An adult or affiliated troop leader must be registered alongside your Girl Scout or troop. On-site parking is provided. Registration closes on June 16.
