Date: Sun Feb 08, 9:00 AM EST - Sun Feb 08, 12:00 PM EST
Are you ready to roll into the Science of Roller Skating with
United Skates of America? Girl Scouts will learn about the parts of a
roller skate/inline skate and how each part functions to make the
skate in this badge-earning program. They will discuss how surfaces in
the rink are made of different materials and how that affects the
skate in motion. Girl Scouts will then have a chance to showcase their
creativity and design a new feature for a skate. Once you are fueled
with the knowledge behind roller skating, play with science in motion
as you enjoy the rest of your time building your skating skills! Price
includes the Maker Badge: Craft and Tinker, your STEM Lesson,
admission, skate rental, 1 slice of pizza and a soft drink!
This is not a drop-off event and chaperones are
required to register and attend. Non-skating chaperones are free, but
if you would like to skate, admission and skate rentals will be
available in-person on the day-of the program for a fee.
