On January 15, a 100+ year old women's debate club comprising local Rhode Island women of all ages will use the GSSNE space to host their monthly debate. This club has been a refuge of free and dynamic thought for women for generations, and they are welcoming Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts to join them as guests for the debate. The topic is not yet known, but the club covers topics ranging from arts to technology to culture to the environment. (In the 1910s, they debated whether women had the right to vote!)
The debate runs from 2:30PM to 4:30PM and there are small bites, tea, and coffee after for all to munch on while discussing the debate--or anything else. This is a great opportunity for older Scouts to engage with intellectually ambitious women across Rhode Island and grow your networks.
